Bob Fitzgerald
Television Play-by-Play Announcer

One of the most recognizable sports personalities in the Bay Area, Bob Fitzgerald begins his ninth season as television play-by-play announcer for the Warriors in 2006-07. In addition to announcing 70 Warriors games on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, Fitzgerald will also host the "Roundtable Live" pre-game shows and continue to maintain an active role on the Warriors post game radio shows throughout the basketball season. Since his arrival, the Warriors broadcast team has received six nominations and won two Emmys for "Best Live Sports Broadcast," the initial two for the organization. Fitzgerald has also received two Emmy nominations for "Best On-Camera".

Fitzgerald, 38, is well known throughout the Bay Area sports scene. Beginning in 1993 and prior to joining the Warriors full-time in 1997, Fitzgerald served as a back-up play-by-play broadcaster for selected games on the Warriors radio network. He was also the alternate host for the radio and television "Warriors RoundTable" programs. For the last eleven years, Fitzgerald has been the television and radio voice for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League and is in his seventh year as the play-by-play voice for ESPN's NBA Basketball video game series. He hosted a popular talk show on KNBR radio for a decade and has written a column for the Oakland Tribune and ANG Newspapers for eight years.

On a national basis, Fitzgerald currently calls NFL and college football games for CBS radio. Three summers ago he broadcast all the basketball action at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, culminating in calling the Bronze and Gold medal games for Team USA (Men and Women). Additional credits include the 1996 Summer Olympics, as well as network television NFL broadcasts for NBC Sports.

A 1988 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Fitzgerald also received his Masters Degree from The Ohio State University in 1990. While at Notre Dame, he worked as the play-by-play broadcaster for Fighting Irish football and basketball on campus radio station WVFI.

An avid golfer, Bob and his wife, Carol, live on the Peninsula with their three children, Erin, Ryan and Quinn.

Jim Barnett
Television Analyst

Jim Barnett enters his 22nd season as the Warriors television analyst in 2006-07. A self-proclaimed gym rat who still finds time to work on his jump shot, Barnett continues a deep-rooted passion for the game of basketball. He showed it on the court during an 11-year NBA career and now shares his passion with viewers as the Warriors color commentator. Once again this season, Barnett will join Bob Fitzgerald in broadcasting 70 Warriors games on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, while also providing color commentary to selected Warriors radio broadcasts, working alongside Tim Roye when games are not televised.
In addition to his broadcast work, Barnett plays an active role on a variety of television and radio programs throughout the basketball season. He serves as a co-host on various Warriors programs throughout the season and joins Tim Roye on KNBR's "Warriors RoundTable" radio show as well as KNBR's postgame show. Active in the community, Barnett also entertains a number of speaking engagements throughout the greater Bay Area during the year.

Barnett's NBA career began when the Boston Celtics selected him with the eighth pick overall in the 1966 NBA Draft. He later played for the Warriors for three seasons (1971-74) and six other teams during his 11-year career. Barnett teamed up with many of the league's Hall of Famers, including Warriors stars Rick Barry and Nate Thurmond, as well as Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Walt Frazier, Earl Monroe, Pete Maravich and Julius Erving. Nicknamed "Crazy Horse," Barnett averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 732 games.

While Barnett's NBA career is over, his playing days certainly are not. Since 1984, he has participated in the National AAU Master's Championship in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and has competed in several other Master's Tournaments throughout the United States and Europe.

A native of Riverside, California, Barnett was a basketball All-American at the University of Oregon and is a member of both the University of Oregon and State of Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame. He currently resides in Orinda and maintains a career as a successful businessman at USA Marketing, an Oakland-based direct response promotion company. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, biking and spending time with his 29-year-old daughter, Jennifer.
